What is included in your Developmental Editing Package:

My job is to help ensure your “big picture” details and elements are in place before you move to line/copy editing and proofreading!

I read through your manuscript multiple times.

AFTER 1ST READ:
I will provide you with a detailed, in-depth report on the following:
First impressions, flow, pace, character development, readability, consistency in character descriptions, use of past vs present tense, first vs third person POV.
I will also provide chapter by chapter notes of suggested edits, rewordings, or inconsistencies.
If using Google Docs, I will leave comments as well directly on the Doc.

AFTER 2ND READ:
I will update my report and include locations of all recommended hooks to use for marketing and social media posting.

OPTIONAL 3RD READ:
This one is totally optional. If after your 2nd read through and edits, you feel like you want me to read through again, I’m more than happy to.

KEY THINGS I’M LOOKING FOR:

• Plot holes
• Inconsistencies with character descriptions. (Eye color, hair color, personality)
• Setting: Ensuring it is detailed enough to help set the scene. (Helps the reader easier visualize surroundings to immerse themselves in the story)
• Smut: If there is smut and spice in your story, I will make sure it is realistic and physically possible. (Especially in poly/multiple partner scenes)
• YA: If your story is YA and has romance, I will make sure it is appropriate for your younger audience.
• Consistent use of past and present tense
